    Sometimes you get the hero you need and the hero you deserve at the same time. This is a lesson of finding joy in the smallest and oddest of things. Well, it’s not odd if you know me. Rewind about seven months, to the beginning of quarantine. Like most Star Wars fans, Everett and I were pretty pleased with the Mandalorian series on Disney Plus for completely objective and subjective reasons. We liked the way it expanded the universe.     Making Time for Creativity

    Full disclosure: I find teaching to be a very rewarding occupation. I love helping people, particularly young people, grow and develop into the best versions of themselves. That being said. Teaching is my job. It is not my identity. This is one of those boundaries that I fight so hard to maintain. So often when you ask people about themselves they tell you about what they do for a living, while I prefer to talk to people about what I do to live.     This spring my nephew came to stay at our house because he was bored. We put him to work. He helped in the garden, learned to feed the chickens and collect eggs. I taught him how to cook spaghetti and meat sauce so he could make dinner for his mom when she got out of basic training. I have to admit. I’m not used to cooking for almost teenagers.
